New Splinter Cell: Double Agent and HAZE screens thisaway… [PS3]

Wednesday May 10, 08:45 PM New Splinter Cell: Double Agent and HAZE screens thisaway…

E3 Wednesday, and Ubisoft has just announced HAZE, a new game from TimeSplitters developers, Free Radical Design, and due for PC and next-generation platforms in March next year.

Not sure what HAZE is an acronym for, but the screens attached demonstrate that it is a first-person shooter set far enough in the future for the characters to be wearing futuristic armour. Maybe that was to avoid accusations of borrowing the jungle-settings of Far Cry!?

Anyway, the game is indeed set 25 years hence and concerns one Jake Carpenter, a fresh conscript to the Mantel Corporation Army – future governments have privatised the military, y’see. Jake and his high-tech unit are sent on a mission to fight the good fight against a vicious rebel faction in South America and, well, it all kicks off and, as things turn out, it’s no mere case of good versus evil either. Which is all we’re being told at present, so we’ll let these gorgeous screens do the rest of the talking.

While we’re on the subject of Ubisoft we thought we’d share these new shots of Splinter Cell: Double Agent with you too. A couple of them are on Ubisoft’s E3 preview site but the rest are exclusive! Ubisoft’s E3 site is worth a visit anyway as it has trailers for many of its other forthcoming games, including HAZE, Splinter Cell Double Agent and Rayman Raving Rabbids, and for that pleasure alone we just know you’ll be heading over to http://e3.ubi.com as soon as you’ve finished reading this!
