A new Japanese promo for the Wii’s MotionPlus accessory reveals two extra additions to the Wii Sports Resort roster – golf and ping-pong.

Snippets of both activities can be seen in the footage posted at http://wii.com/jp/movies/wii-motion-plus-movie1/. Check it out. Ping-pong looks like a giggle. Not quite up there with ‘Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis’ in terms of uncompromising authenticity, but fun nonetheless. Meanwhile golf is back and, presumably, greatly enhanced by the MotionPlus’ ability to detect the minutest directional flicks and twists of the Wii Remote. As such, putting may be particularly problematic for those of you prone to the ‘yips’.

Golf and table tennis join the bare handful of other sporting activities announced so far, the others being fencing, jetski racing and, er, dog Frisbee. So that’s five for the count out of the ten or so that are supposed to make up the final game. We're keeping our fingers tightly crossed for shove ha'penny...

Wii Sports Resort is released in the UK on July 24th and comes bundled with the MotionPlus. The latter arrives separately on June 12th if you’re one of those impatient, early adopter-types.
