Wii Fit has surely dug its claws in at the top of the all format/full price charts. Which is more than can be said for X-Men Origins: Wolverine... So make that five in a row for Nintendo’s unstoppable exerciser – by Nintendo’s own account they’re selling ‘em just as fast as they can import ‘em too. This week’s stats ably attest to that fact, with Wii Fit outshifting the brand new Wolverine at something like 1.7 units to 1. Note to software publishers: If you’ve got a new game to launch maybe you’d better hang on until we’re all done and dusted with Wii Fit. Oh, and don’t expect that to be any time soon. Elsewhere on this week’s countdown we see that former pretenders to the throne have slipped to mid-table, only to be replaced by a familiar bunch of die-hards. FIFA 09 sits behind Wolverine at three, followed by Resi Evil 5 and Mario Kart Wii. Meanwhile last week’s near-misser, Riddick: Dark Athena, is down to six and The Godfather II slips from three to seven. After all that we’re impressed by Street Fighter IV’s ability to bounce back – from 21 to ten – and we’re not all sad to wave cheery-bye to Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, which drops to 11. New entry-wise there’s nothing beyond Wolverine until we reach SingStar Pop Edition at 24. Then, clustered together at the lower end of the barrel, there’s Race Driver: GRID at 34, Rhythm Paradise at 35 and, improbably, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 at 36. Either there’s been a killer price promotion we don’t know about or players haven’t realised that Woods 10 tees off in just a couple of months. Maybe that’ll be the game to finally unseat Wii Fit?
