Has Sony been listening to its critics or did they just have a bunch of spare content gathering dust in the corner of their ivory tower? Either way a veritable storm of new downloadables has just swamped the Playstation Network. And it’s good stuff too… Okay, cutting to the main highlight first and the free demo of Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction has finally graced the European servers. This game sure looks sweet if early footage and screens are to be trusted. Best check it out yourselves to be sure. There’s also a demo of Tony Hawk’s proving Grounds if you’re interested - which you won’t be if you’ve already experienced EA’s awesome Skate. Next a couple of extra bits for existing games. The MotorStorm ‘Halloween Livery’ does exactly what it says on the tin but costs nothing, so what the hey. Then there’s a ‘Kidnapped Folk’ pack for Folklore, which comes at a not unfriendly price of £1.99. The title implies extra monsters, which sounds nice if you’re a fan of the game. Are you? Hello...? Now for some promising looking new IP. Pixeljunk Racers looks like a laff inna SuperSprint stylee, but is the most expensive at £4.99. After that there’s Operation Creature Feature and Trials of Topoq, both of which cost £3.49 and sound like something knocked up by the school computer club. Aqua Vita’s worth a look if you’ve got an EyeToy camera and are in the market for an interactive aquarium - heck, who isn’t? It’s just £1.99 too. Finally EyeCreate is a video editing tool for EyeToy. It’s free and is probably a cool utility in the right hands. Wrong hands might be more fun, though. So all of the above and a bunch of new trailers to boot. Wow! No, we don’t know what’s inspired this sudden rush of activity at Sony HQ either, but we’re not complaining. For a change…
