The Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 2 introduces Hell Hounds and Zombies to the battlefield on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network from today.

Call of Duty continues to rank among the most-played games across the PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE. Fans of the series can download the latest collection of multiplayer maps from today, three of them ‘serious’ while the fourth is an OTT co-op thrill ride. Let’s look at that last one first of all, okay…

“Shi No Numa” (Zombie Swamp) puts you up against Imperial Zombies in a four-player co-op scenario. Flaming Hell Hounds bite at your heels while searching for elusive Perk machines and something called a Wunderwaffe DG-2. This madness is worth 10 new Xbox 360 Achievements or PSN Trophies for the brave.

We’re in more familiar territory with the remaining three multiplayer maps: "Banzai" has a jungle theme with a pretty waterfall and caves to explore. Your aim here is to seize control of a river bridge a la River Kwai. "Corrosion" takes place in a Russian train yard where your enemy could be crawling beneath or clambering through or on top of empty carriages. Finally "Sub Pens" is a Japanese submarine base that looks straight out of a James Bond movie set and is loaded with explosive potential.

The Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 2 costs 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and £7.99 on PlayStation Network.
