2010 will be horrific [X360]

Friday October 30, 12:57 PM 2010 will be horrific

A Dead Space sequel is underway from EA while Capcom's Resident Evil continues to spread.

The oft-quoted and on-the-money US videogame tracking firm NPD has today shone some light into the dark corridors of the horror genre. Capcom has been going gangbusters with its Devil May Cry series, but more so Resident Evil that has sold almost 2 million copies of the most recent episode across Xbox 360 and PS3. Capcom subsequently owns “exactly half” of all horror-game sales according to NPD.

Arguably the biggest news to come out of this latest NPD analysis is confirmation of a Dead Space sequel for next-gen consoles and PC next year. Also (news to us) that there will be a fourth Resident Evil movie “Afterlife" shot in 3D. It's now in production and will also premier in 2010.

Well, Happy Halloween.
