Charts: Need For Speed Shifts on PS3 [PS3]

Monday September 21, 11:39 AM Charts: Need For Speed Shifts on PS3

Need for Speed: Shift takes pole position on this week’s all-format/full-price chart, with the lion’s share of sales going to the PlayStation 3. Er, wow...

Is this some kind of first? Prior to the launch of the ‘Slim’ we doubt that there were enough PS3s in the country to even achieve such a feat. Whatever the case, it’s very much game-on now, and 52% of sales of one of the biggest games of the year belong to Sony’s machine, while Xbox 360 gets 44% and other formats squabble over the scraps.

Otherwise it’s pretty much business as usual on this week’s countdown, albeit with WET making a moderately-sized damp-patch at six, The Beatles Rock Band falling three places to seven, Tiger taking a second tour at ten and Ashes Cricket 09 and Il2 Sturmovik being dumped altogether. Watch in horror next week as everything is shifted down, ooh, one whole place to make room for Halo 3: ODST. That’s out tomorrow, in case you’ve forgotten:

1. Need for Speed: Shift (NE)
2. Guitar Hero 5 (1)
3. Colin McRae: Dirt 2 (2)
4. Batman: Arkham Asylum (3)
5. Wii Sports Resort (6)
6. WET (NE)
7. The Beatles: Rock Band (4)
8. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (8)
9. Wii Fit (5)
10. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (11)
