Charts: Take a Wiild guess

Monday May 11, 12:23 PM

It’s no change at the top of the all formats/full price chart this week. So that means a sixth consecutive week in the hotseat for Wii Fit and a fifteenth appearance at number one in total. Just three more are now needed to equal Who Wants to be a Millionaire’s all-time record.

We reckon it’ll walk it too. Certainly no game has managed to unseat it in recent weeks – including some very likely contenders. As if too illustrate that X-Men Origins: Wolverine sales are actually up 16% on the back of some high profile TV and cinema advertising, while Wii Fit’s are 7% down, yet the latter prevails untroubled. In fact the only game we can see spoiling the Wii Fit party is The Sims 3, arriving June 5th. Even then we wouldn’t bet against Wii Fit returning for a second pop. And a third, etc...

And so we must look elsewhere for chart excitement. To which end say a big howdy to Hannah Montana: The Movie, which debuts at 14 this week. After that Mystery Case Files: Millionheir is back in at 31, Trivial Pursuit pops up at 35 and LittleBigPlanet bounces along the bottom at 37. The highest climber of the week is Rhythm Paradise on DS, leaping from 35 to nine, and the biggest loser is Riddick: Dark Athena which slumps from six to 23. And that’s pretty much it. Here’s the countdown:

1. Wii Fit (1)
2. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2)
3. FIFA 09 (3)
4. Mario Kart Wii (5)
5. Resident Evil 5 (4)
6. Professor Layton and the Curious Village (8)
7. Call of Duty: World at War (9)
8. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (11)
9. Rhythm Paradise (35)
10. Street Fighter IV (10)
