Following the maddening news that the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Xbox 360 Beta test was going to be a US-only affair, Activision has returned with some gladder tidings. Yep, the Beta’s UK-bound after all and we’re advised to stay tuned to the Charlieoscardelta.com (see what they did there?) official website for more precise details very soon. Meantime our antipodean gaming cousins have already had it confirmed that they’ll be getting the Beta ahead of the game’s launch on November 7th. We should flinking think so too given that the US Beta begins imminently. With that in mind it’s likely that Activision will press the button sooner rather than much later. We hope. Against all that it seems that the US Beta has been somewhat oversubscribed. Charlieoscardelta is reporting that first-come-first-served entries for the US have been closed in the name of fairness and a 24 hour lottery system has been introduced instead – blimey. In other words as soon as Activision greenlights the UK beta prepare to sign up. Sign up with… extreme prejudice… We’ll be sure to let you know when.
