Nintendo is back in fighting form in the land where the sun rises. To wit the DSi has booted the PSP off the top of the hardware sales charts for the week ending May 10th. Heck, even Wii sales are pointing in the right direction again. It’s all so different to the gloomy picture we were busily painting just a few short weeks ago. Back then the recently launched DSi was routinely pipped by the PSP while the Wii was getting its teeth kicked in by the PlayStation 3. It’s all changed this week, though. But, as watchers of The Wire will know, it’s all in the game, and from its Final Fantasy XIII-powered chart-topping high a mere four weeks ago the Playstation 3 now finds itself relegated to fourth place – behind the Wii too. Meanwhile the DSi and PSP seem to have gained and lost roughly 6000 sales respectively. And what of the Xbox 360? It had been getting dangerously near to achieving a half-decent sale in recent weeks. But now... well, the fact that it’s being outsold by the PlayStation 2 should give you a clue. Last week’s sales in brackets: DSi - 55,382 (49,133)
PSP - 43,009 (49,557)
Wii - 24,397 (21,546)
PS3 - 18,483 (23,588)
DS Lite - 7,821 (7,540)
PS2 - 5,137 (5,479)
Xbox 360 - 5,068 (7,313)
