Charts: FIFA forever...

Monday October 12, 11:27 AM Charts: FIFA forever...

Well, maybe until next week, when we fully expect Uncharted 2 to be crowned king of the charts. Meantime FIFA 10 has clung to the top spot, and in spite of a 64% decline in sales. Goal in!

And that, we guess, speaks volumes about the fortunes of other games on this week’s countdown. Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising has come the closest to unseating FIFA, though, debuting at two and instantly becoming Codemasters’ biggest selling launch title. After that Gran Turismo PSP is up from 12 to seven and Wii Fit is back in traction at eight, while Batman and MySims Agents are relegated to the teens. Ah well.

The rest of the chart is otherwise peppered with new entries – the excellent Scribblenauts at 12, the okay Star Wars: Clone Wars – Republic Heroes at 15, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (on DS, no less) at 16, Disney’s Up at 20 and Combat of Giants: Dragons (eh?) at 29. However it’s a poor start for Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story, which scrapes in at 38.

But this really is a moment of relative calm before the seasonal storm ensues. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves arrives at the end of this week and pretty much kicks off the almighty annual battle for the biggest share of your Chrimbo cash. Batten-down the hatches, keep a tight hold of your piggybank and calm yourselves with a gander at the all formats/full price top ten for the week ending October 10th:

1. FIFA 10 (1)
2. Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (NE)
3. Need for Speed: Shift (4)
4. Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box (2)
5. Wii Sports Resort (5)
6. Halo 3: ODST (3)
7. Gran Turismo (12)
8. Wii Fit (11)
9. Mario Kart Wii (9)
10. Guitar Hero 5 (6)
