Heads up and wallets open – one online retailer is selling the Wii for a piffling, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it £139.99. Point your browser at Amazon and do it pronto to make sure you don’t miss out.

So that’s a £40 saving off the regular RRP, leaving you with enough spare change jangling in your pocketbook to buy New Super Mario Bros. Wii. when it launches and still have enough left over for a bag of vinegary chips and your B.F.H.

One small catch to bear in mind, though – this offer is for the old Wii bundle, which only includes Wii Sports. It seems that Amazon’s price promo is all about clearing a bit of shelf-space for the new pack, which features Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort and the MotionPlus accessory. That’s out now and is excellent value at £179.99. However you may not want all the stuff that comes with it (our MotionPlus hasn’t seen much action recently), in which case it’s nice to have such an uncostly alternative.
