An unnamed Chinese firm is sending out cease and desist orders to websites that posted the ‘leaked’ pictures of what may or may not have been the new slimlime PlayStation 3. Spong, Kotaku and Endgadget have all received the letters so far, the latter printing an edit of the legal missive and reposting the offending pictures – in plain defiance of requests not to do either. The cheeky monkeys! Well, it’s a bit late in the day to be complaining about the leakage of “confidential document and photos, which were highly possibly illegally released and posted”, as the letter specifies. Particularly when the pictures were broadcast far, wide and way beyond the three listed sites approximately 0.0002 milliseconds after they were first posted. Furthermore, the issuing of this letter – which, we note, wasn’t issued by Sony themselves – is already having the opposite of its intended effect. There’s no smoke without fire, as they say. We’ll say no more on the matter. Whether the legal letter or these latest pics turn out to be real or not a slimline PS3 has got to be on Sony’s agenda sooner or later, hasn’t it? Anyway, got to dash – postman’s at the door…
