You could pick pretty much any Beatles single or album track and it’d be a killer. What a tough job it must have been, then, to whittle the Fab Four’s capacious back catalogue down to just 45 tracks for Beatles Rock Band; 44 of which have just been announced.

The songs picked span the group’s output from the toe-tapping mop-top era, through the brief flirtation with head-spinning psychedelia and right up to their bluesy Let It Be last days. All their major albums are represented, including Rubber Soul, Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road – they’ll be the first albums to be released in their entirety as downloadable extras post-launch.

Anyway, here are 44 of the tracks bundled with the game. The 45th remains a mystery for the time being, although there are some obvious big-name tracks missing – Hey Jude, Lady Madonna, She Loves You etc.

Beatles Rock Band is released on September 9th for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. It’s £179.99 for the full bundle – yeah, yeah, yeah...
