The spotlight finds Steve Tyler and the lads for Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, the first dedicated edition of the 2007 console smash hit. They have penned some of the world’s finest booty shakers and heart breakers, now Aerosmith are all set to quake household floorboards exclusively in the Guitar Hero: Aerosmith edition. The newest in the trail-blazing series is to be released this coming June and will be 100 percent, undiluted Aerosmith. We’ll be wearing the sequined sneakers of guitarists Joe Perry and Brad Whitford alongside bassist Tom Hamilton while Steve Tyler screams out front and Joey Kramer pounds the skins at the back. The premise is that you’ll rock with Aerosmith from their humble beginnings in the 70s through to their triumphant stadium tours of the 90s and early 00s. The ‘smith’s Joe Perry says the band has been putting ideas forward for the game, and describes the whole idea as quite “an honour”. Actually, because Joe is American, what he really said it is that it has been “a huge honor”. Then he got a bit carried away saying things about rebuilding music via videogames and maybe kids will play guitar hero and want to pick up the guitar for real, etc. So, all hail Guitar Hero. Aerosmith have just started work on their new album, the follow-up to “Honkin’ on Bobo” released in 2004. But if you want a taste of classic Aerosmith, the legendary “Dream On” has just been released as a free download for Guitar Hero III for the Xbox 360 and PS3 editions. Wii and PS2 players can dream on, ya dig? Guitar Hero: Aerosmith will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and Wii in June.
