Street Fighter IV Euro championships announced [X360]

Tuesday April 21, 02:54 PM Street Fighter IV Euro championships announced

Capcom has only just unleashed the Street Fight IV ‘Championship Mode’ update and already they’ve opened a competition to find the European Supreme Master.

This is an Xbox 360-only affair for the time being, but “amazing” and “unique” prizes are offered for the winners. Entry is simplicity itself – just download the update, register your entry (inc. contact details and Gamertag) at www.capcom-europe.com/sfivofficialtournament and challenge other players online as and when you please. It’s all about the Grade Points, you see – the more matches you win, the more Points you receive and the better your chances of making the final cut. Capcom will be keeping track of your progress too. Pips!

Entry is underway right now and continues until May 17th, so you’d best get cracking. At the end of the competition period the top 30 Grade Point scorers on each national Leaderboard will fight it out in a live tournament to be held on May 30/31st. After all that the newly-crowned National Champions will be flown to a secret European location on June 13/14th for a grand final dust-up for ultimate glory, and to decide who gets to ride home on the cool SFIV-branded Yamaha Aerox R scooter, which seems to be one of the prizes.

Finally, a reassurance for Xbox LIVE Silver subscribers – you can upgrade to full Gold privileges for the duration of the forthcoming ‘Xtival’ event, which runs online from the 1st to the 4th of May. You’ll have to fight your off, given that others may already have had a fortnight’s headstart. But that’s better than nothing, right? Well, just...
