Coventry pop scallywags, The Enemy, have teamed up with EA in a product placement/new single-discounting mash-up. The band’s latest single “Be Somebody” is a key track in FIFA 10. Indeed, as far as toe-tapping tunes for the terrace go, it’s not a bad ‘un either. But we digress. So here’s the deal: both EA and The Enemy would dearly like to score another top 20 hit – the four to date are clearly not sufficient – thus they’re offering you, the Enemy-obsessed punter, the opportunity to download the track for a pleasingly piffling 50 pences. We imagine you’re going to want to head to http://www.7digital.com/artists/the-enemy/be-somebody seven-sided silver coins in hand as soon as possible. If you’re in less of a hurry, or are merely skint, you can listen to the new choon and watch The Enemy in action at the Ricoh Stadium at http://www.theenemy.com/video,be-somebody_23.htm?eml=wb/enemy/fifa. You may even notice that they’re playing FIFA 10 backstage too. Gosh, marketing’s clever, innit...
