Threespeech has just revealed no details about a PS3 blockbuster that has not been given a name yet. Damn right it’s a slow news day! The forthcoming smasheroo is to be a collaboration between Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide and French outfit Quantic Dream (of Farenheit infamy). Whatever the product of their joint effort turns out to be it’s already promising to “redefine cinematic real-time entertainment; setting a new benchmark in delivering emotionally compelling experiences to gamers”. Er, wow... Continuing in the same needlessly opaque vein Sony Worldwide’s VP, Michael Denny, added: “We’re really excited to be working with Quantic Dream for the first time and to have this opportunity to once again push the gaming experience to realise a new level of interactivity and, in particular, to engage players at an emotional level never experienced before. We’re looking forward to revealing more news on this special title later this year.” We’re looking forward to hearing more about it too, aren’t we? Aren’t we?! But if Sony is hoping to enliven the PS3 user base or kickstart the PS3 revival they’re going to have to do a lot better than non-specific/borderline worthless statements such as this. And the attempt to add a veneer of intrigue by ‘leaking’ the story through its – cough – semi-official blogspot doesn’t work either. Hrrmmph. Make with the fulsome details please, and soon.
