Next week’s Xbox LIVE Arcade game is Portal: Still Alive, Microsoft has confirmed.

Now owners of the Orange Box need to think carefully before purchasing, seeing as Still Alive is basically a slightly refreshed, download-only version of the original Portal, as bundled within that magnificent package. There are a couple of significant differences that may justify the extra outlay, though - namely six extra advanced maps and 14 new Challenge maps.

But if you didn’t get Orange Box and you’re mentally tuff enuff to face a thorough melon-twisting you could do far, far worse than check out this murderously compelling combination of puzzling, blasting, platform skills and brain-melting logic.

It’s brilliant stuff, take it from us. And it’s a veritable bargain too at just 1200 MS Points - a tenner or thereabouts. It’s just a pity that MS isn’t offering some sort of discount for Orange Box owners.
