Gears of War 2, to the surprise of absolutely no-one who has played it, has sold in gargantuan quantities worldwide and at more than twice the rate of its predecessor. How gargantuan, you enquire? We’ll let Epic Games’ VP Mark Rein answer that one: “Microsoft confirmed to me this afternoon that Gears of War 2 sell-through surpassed 3 million units as of last week." he tells Eurogamer, not showing off in the slightest. Not bad for an Xbox exclusive, right? But more remarkable is the speed the game’s been able to reach this milestone. The original Gears of War took ten weeks to reach three million sales whereas Gears#2 has made the same marker in just a month - it sold a staggering two million copies on its opening weekend too. A small Bosh! is in order, wouldn‘t you say…?
