MTV has learned that James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game will support digital 3D on compatible systems and displays; in other words limited to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. According to MTV Multiplayer this morning, Avatar: The Game will support Digital 3D if displayed at 1080p resolution on high definition displays. Confirmation came from senior international brand manager Luc Duchaine, who immediately rained on Wii’s parade by saying that old school ‘anaglyph’ 3D (red and blue specs) “doesn't offer a quality image, and quality is synonymous with the James Cameron name." Avatar: The Game will be published by Ubisoft on PC and all major consoles, including DS and PSP, this December. The only systems capable of 1080p resolution are PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
