Battlefield 1943: Xbox 360 gamers for the win! [X360]

Wednesday July 15, 9:37 AM Battlefield 1943: Xbox 360 gamers for the win!

Okay, so the PlayStation 3 version of Battlefield 1943 hasn’t been available for quite as long as the Xbox 360 game. Even so, the Sony crowd have only amassed half as many kills in the time they’ve been playing.

But what does this indicate? Poor marksmanship or, conversely, excellent evasion skills on the part of PS3 gamers? Is Battlefield 1943 just not as popular on PS3 as it is on Xbox 360? There’s certainly no evidence of that. No, more likely it’s a simple function of the game’s limited-time availability on PSN coupled with the bald fact that there are more Xbox 360s out there than PS3s.

Those all-important big numbers, then. Since launch last Wednesday Xbox 360 gamers have racked up over 43 million kills. Meanwhile their PS3-owning rivals have clocked just 22,868,004 since their version launched last Friday. And that means that Xbox gamers have been the first to unlock the Coral Sea Map pack and the brand new Air Superiority game mode. Come on!

So, PS3 gamers, your challenge is clear. Xbox 360 crew, you’ll find us in the Coral Seas. But not if we find you first etc...
