Criterion Games’ mission to support Burnout Paradise like no other game or developer before it is set to step up another gear with the announcement of four new content packs...

What’s in store? Well, one of the updates surely has to be the Eastwood pack that promises to expand Paradise City with a whole new island’s worth of highways, byways, challenges, lavishly detailed environments etc. After that, your guess is as good as ours - er, Micro Scooters and Segueways, perhaps?

The first of these new updates - the imaginatively titled ’Pack 4’ - will be unveiled on October 31st, with a view to actually releasing it in Spring ‘09. Thereafter Pack 5 will be detailed on November 7th, Pack 6 on the 14th and Pack 7 on the 21st. All are similarly pencilled in for release next Spring.

Mad busy times at Criterion, then, and it looks like Burnout Paradise will be a whole new game by the end of next Spring - how brilliant is that! Be sure to check back Friday for news of the first update.
