We love it! In the run up to a new hardware release even the most respectable video games news sources can’t resist taking ‘informed’ punts at price/launch details etc – secret fanboys, that’s what they all are! Anyway, the latest credible news source to reveal its inner geek is the respected games trade paper/website, MCV, which is claiming industry-sourced knowledge that Nintendo will launch its much-heralded next-gen machine on, or shortly before November 24th and for the el-cheapo price of just £149. Furthermore stock will be plentiful around launch; to fulfil all pre-orders and in the run-up to the crucial Xmas period. How do you like them apples Mister Sony playbox 360? Yeah, well we’ve all got ‘insider’ sources – a friend-of-a-friend of ours’ cousin’s sister-in-law works for the internet, and she says... etc. For its part Nintendo says MCV’s guesstimate is “close but not right” and most likely went on to remind us all that they do not comment on speculation and rumour... yawn. Whatever the case the big Wii reveal is set for the end of this week – Thursday in Japan, Friday pm over here. Needless to say we’ll have the full, unexpurgated and 100% pukka truth for you all as soon as it’s available.
