According to film producer Patrick Aiello, currently directing Kristen Kreuk as the eponymous lead in 20th Century Fox’s ‘Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li’. The release date of Street Fighter IV for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 has been more or less revealed today during an interview posted on GameDaily BIZ. Hyde Park Entertainment’s ‘Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li’ is officially scheduled for general release in US cinemas next March. It stars Smallville starlet Kristen Kreuk as Chun Li and promises to revisit her origins relating to fellow World Warriors that include Balrog, M Bison, Vega and Nash. So says Aiello during his one-on-one with GameDaily BIZ: “Capcom is releasing Street Fighter IV in 2009, which is the 20th anniversary of the game. The film and game release dates will coincide, but I'm not certain how much of the game will coincide with the story because ours is a very partitioned off origin story of the Street Fighter universe.” Officially the console street date for SFIV remains TBC, but it would make good sense for a worldwide simultaneous release with the movie as part of the plan.
