A new Microsoft job ad reveals that Xbox LIVE may be expanding to mobile gaming devices “and beyond”. Oo-err... The recruitment ad in question seeks an Xbox LIVE Community Director to run the ‘LIVE Engagement Team’ and generally take care of business as they build the service beyond its current 360/PC limitations. The real intrigue comes in the ad’s last sentence: The LIVE Engagement Team is looking for a LIVE Community Director to manage its LIVE community strategy and execution across a range of properties, from Xbox LIVE to Windows Mobile. This senior position will play a vital role in the community space as the LIVE Engagement team builds and program’s Microsoft’s next-generation, LIVE-enabled casual and social gaming platform across the Web, the console, mobile and beyond. Mobile and beyond? All things considered they’ve got to be thinking iPhone for the former, but we’ve totally scratched out a new bald patch trying to think what they could mean by the latter. Does Microsoft know about some new gaming platform that’s not console, personal computer or mobile-based? Like, maybe, some kind of videogaming pill or cranial implant? We need answers, Microsoft, and we need ‘em now!
