Premier League football, movies, news and more dated for broadband delivery to Xbox 360 consoles across the UK. You won’t need to take out a subscription to enjoy Sky programming via Xbox 360. Microsoft has announced that the service will begin on 27 October, and users will be able to cherry pick their entertainment on a per-show basis. Sky Player will be served as content on demand then for Xbox 360, although if you already have a Sky subscription you can stream this too. Pricing details are still under wraps, as are the full list of available channels. Microsoft says this information will be confirmed at launch. One of the benefits of watching Sky on Xbox instead of the Sky Plus box is that it links in with Xbox LIVE, so you can watch the game or film while chatting to your friends… we guess the usefulness of this service will depend on the quality of your teams or the acting on the day. If you’ve been sitting on the fence regarding Sky because of instalment issues and availability in your area, Sky Player on Xbox 360 could be the excuse you’ve been looking for. Our view is that it could prove to be a system seller for Microsoft.
