Call of Duty 5 first pics, trailer incoming [X360]

Wednesday June 18, 12:27 PM Call of Duty 5 first pics, trailer incoming

Call of Duty 4 has just been voted the greatest game of all time in the Game retail group’s poll of around 100,000 happy customers – and we’re not about to argue with any of ‘em. With that in mind we thought you might be interested to see the first pics of the next chapter in the series, Call of Duty: World at War. Were we wrong to make such an assumption on your behalf? ‘Course not...

So here they are – a bit good, aren’t they? We’d guess they’re all from the game’s new WWII Pacific theatre levels, which means the fisticuffs in the main pic will be between a US soldier and one of the new Japanese enemy who, apparently, make terrifying use of the jungle environments – lurking in the undergrowth, hiding in trees and so on. Makes a change from shooting Nazis, we suppose, although they’re bound to put in an appearance at a later stage when the Russian army lays siege to Berlin.

Alas, there are just the three screens for the time being, but Xbox 360 owners won’t have too much longer to wait to get a more fulsome glimpse of the action in store. That’s thanks to the first gameplay trailer, which is exclusive to Xbox LIVE Marketplace this weekend (21 – 22 June). We’ll be sure to post it for your viewing pleasure as soon as it becomes available for general consumption – Monday morning, fingers crossed.
