Lifetime sales of the Nintendo Wii exercise game have surpassed Microsoft’s flagship title for Xbox 360 this month in the US.

Six million Americans now have Wii Fit at home, versus 5.9 million who own an Xbox 360 with Halo 3 according to the NPD Group. As Wii Fit continues to dominate the monthly sales it was only a matter of time we guess. But the most striking aspect of this story is that Wii Fit was released a full eight months after Halo 3.
