Nintendo has confirmed a UK street date for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Xmas wishlists at the ready...

It’s the back end of November for this oldskool-style multiplayer platformer – the 15th in the US and the 20th for us. The difference is minorly annoying, but at least it’s a matter of days rather than weeks or months. And November is just around the corner, somewhat disconcertingly.

In other Wii-related news Nintendo has finally confirmed the rumours and announced the Wii price cut Stateside. So that’s $199 from this Sunday – equivalent to £120 or so.

Alas, a similar deal for Brit gamers has not been announced (yet). Instead it seems we’re in line for an added-value bundle pack arriving October 2nd and containing the original Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort and the MotionPlus accessory. Nintendo has reduced the Wii’s trade price, though, thus paving the way for retailers to lower prices as they see fit. In short, hold on for a bit and you could end up nabbing the new bundle for the same price you'd currently pay for the standalone console. Fingers crossed, anyway.
