If, like us, you’ve been, er, maddened by the playback quality of “some PS3 format software” and have been, ah, tearing what little hair you have left out at the occasional errors that occur when entering text via on-screen, Bluetooth or USB keyboards, well, the new PS3 firmware update is going to be right up your street…

Yep, those are the thorny issues fixed by Firmware Update version 2.52 that's released today, and nope, we weren’t aware that either of the above was especially problematic either. In fact Sony is the first to admit that this is a minor update. It is, however, entirely MANDATORY, and your machine will eventually insist that you upgrade.

So, best swallow hard, head over to the System Update menu when you next fire your machine up, follow the directions and drum your fingers in frustration as the file trickles down your pipe - thus robbing you of precious seconds in the wonderful world of LittleBigPlanet, which, presumably, you‘ve just rushed out to buy.
