Sequels to last year’s cute and constructive Sims titles for DS and Wii are underway at EA, promising more creativity in MySims Kingdom. With sales of DS and Wii showing no signs of slowing, and evermore the family favourite consoles worldwide, EA is pushing ahead with a couple more instalments of its newly established MySims series. We really enjoyed the originals (September 07), they’re ever-green titles and so sequels could raise more awareness for them. That said, official sales figures are already just shy of three million worldwide! On DS, My Sims Kingdom requires you to help King Rowland complete a succession of quests such as building new homes or fashioning new equipment to improve life for everyone – such as those channelling water or creating electricity. When it’s time to relax, DS Sims can go kayaking, ski jumping or visit the town zoo. Indeed one of the quests involves rounding up animals for the zoo. The Wii version the quests venture outside the city walls, starting in The Capital but exploring ever more distant lands to bring glory to the Kingdom as a whole. This means more, and more varied cities to develop and nurture. You’ll have friends to help you do this, starting with King Roland, his daughter the Princess Butter and magician in residence Wizard Marlon. Initially the trek takes place on land, but in RPG style you’ll eventually earn a boat to search for lands overseas. MySims Kingdom will launch this autumn for DS and Wii.
