There’s no change at the very pinnacle of the charts, with Wii Fit claiming a sixth week at the top and Call of Duty: World at War in a stoical second place. Meanwhile Skate 2 has failed to take the all format/full price crown with a thoroughly respectable number three. EA will be happy enough with that, we think. Especially since Skate 2’s debut is just one of three Electronic Arts titles cluttering the all formats/full price top ten - FIFA’s still stuck at four and the crummy-looking-but-fun LOTR: Conquest has slipped, slightly to five. After that it’s cool to see Mario Kart Wii back on the ascendant, from ten to six. And it’s frankly amazing to see Tomb Raider: Underworld back from the mid-20s doldrums at this week’s seven. If nothing else it’s firm evidence that there’s plainly plenty of life in the Playstation 2 yet, since that’s the version largely responsible for this resurgence. And then, rounding things off with a fourth entry for Nintendo, we have Professor Layton and the Curious Village - sneaking in without any kind of by-your-leave or even much of a marketing push from Nintendo. See how they succeed even when they’re not really trying? As long as they remember that nobody likes a show-off… 1. Wii Fit (1) Leisure software charts compiled by Chart Track, ©2009 ELSPA Ltd.
