Nintendo’s Wii ‘Zapper’ add-on, which transforms the Wii remote and nunchuck into a shooting device, will arrive with a Zelda theme cross-bow game. Wii fans across the pond are getting the Wii Zapper gizmo in mid November, and Nintendo has announced that this will ship with ‘Link’s Crossbow Training’ – a Zelda theme adventure. No imagery is available yet, but we’re told the game will look similar to Twilight Princess and will involve bulls-eye practice before moving on to real enemies that’ll probably be firing back. Nintendo has also proudly confirmed that EA’s Medal of Honor Heroes 2 will feature a Zapper mode, as will Capcom’s Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles (which sounds ridiculous if you know nothing about the series, but honestly it’s spooky) and Sega’s Ghost Squad. All are rather violent compared to the slapstick violence of Zelda but you have your parental settings and ownership of the credit card after all. The US price-point for the Zapper is a puny $19.99, which at the moment is only marginally more than a tenner. That’s about right for a bit of a plastic frame that your uncle Tom might volunteer to make in his shed. Add a fiver and that’ll probably be the UK receipt.
