The notion that Grand Theft Auto was a Playstation licence was pretty much undone by the bald fact that GTAIV has sold more copies on Xbox 360 than PS3. You can probably thank the prospect of exclusive downloadable extra episodes for that. However here’s a bit of news to ease the pain for Sony fans… There’s no nice way of saying this, so we’ll be blunt. The extra content for Xbox 360, which was originally promised for this autumn – i.e. a mere handful of months away – has now been delayed until the first financial quarter of 2009. In plain speaking this means any time in the three month window between November this year and next January. How do you spell ‘disappointment’? To make matters worse it seems that this unfortunate decision has been made in the name of ‘portfolio balancing’, whatever that actually means, rather than any development-related problems. In other words the game's publishers, Take Two, could release the content as per the original schedule - they just don’t want to! Hmmm…
