THQ has announced that the Playstation 3 version of Destroy All Humans: Path of the Furon has been cancelled. Oops. This is a bit of a puzzler, we have to admit. THQ is citing “development issues”, which could cover all manner of behind-the-scenes jiggery-pokery. Yet the game is still bound for Xbox 360 (now exclusively) and is due to hit US retail on December 1st, while the PS3 version was originally scheduled for the 3rd - at least according to one major retailer. Doesn’t that rather suggest that the actual reasons for the cancellation may be less developmental in nature? Hmmm… It’s not yet clear whether the death of Path of the Furon PS3 is a Stateside-only affair. UK retail still has the title listed for launch next February but a quick butcher’s at the official site (destroyallhumansgame.com) reveals no mention of PS3 on the main page and only the teensiest logo at the end of the trailer. On balance we don’t hold out much hope. Oh well, one less reason to buy a PS3 this Xmas…
