Peter Molyneux has revealed that forthcoming Xbox biggie, Fable III, will feature support for the motion-sensing Project Natal tech. It’ll have micro-transactions too. The Lionhead bossman was the star speaker at last night’s BAFTA Annual Video Games Lecture, where several in attendance were happily reporting the highlights as they were casually cast out by the great man. This included event host, Johnny Minkley, who tweeted throughout, revealing such pearls as how Molyneux’s wife has never enjoyed a single game her husband has made. Worrying lack of marital support aside, the biggest bomb of the evening was Molyneux’s confirmation that Fable III will contain support for Project Natal. He didn’t say how, but this is an important revelation nonetheless since Molyneux has previously only hinted at such an inclusion, telling those at a recent Dutch event “Do you really think, knowing me, I wouldn’t want to use something like that.” Otherwise Molyneux also chatted about an in-game store for Fable III, where players would be able to buy cheap-priced downloadables such as walkthroughs, extra content, new weapons and so on. If that all whiffs of a pocket-picking in prospect Molyneux is quick to add that the whole micro-transactional thing is still at the planning stages. Just in case any of you were preparing to mount your high-horses. And we nearly were… Fable III is currently slated for a Xmas 2010 release.
