Dripping with detail, soaked in mood lighting, swimming in a muddy puddle of mystery. Here are the latest pics released by Sony its upcoming 'emotional journey'.

We're still guessing that Heavy Rain for PlayStation 3 will be pretty much Sega's Shenmue for Xbox, only with a female lead and lots more rain. Probably no fork-lift truck racing around warehouses, not even as an homage, but it's early days yet.

Sony is still showing us the same girl, Madison, standing on the same street, wearing an expression like she lost her house keys and already paid the taxi driver plus tip. And she hates her neighbours. Oh, and then she meets an unhealthy-looking guy who chases her around his dining room table. Can't wait to try that out.

Heavy Rain is already turning out to be one hell of a detective story. The game is due next year.
