Upcoming Hollywood screenwriter Sheldon Turner reaches for his keyboard as acclaimed super-hero producers Avi and Ari Arad are also involved. The Hollywood Reporter is saying that Sony Pictures recently green-lighted a pitch from hot-stuff scribe Sheldon Turner to bring PS3 game inFAMOUS to the big screen. THR claims the deal is worth “seven figures” to Turner, whose previous work includes The Longest Yard remake. Avi Arad and Ari Arad are producing, which is great news since the duo did amazingly with The Incredible Hulk and especially Iron Man. They are also producing the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune flick. Can you say On a Roll? Turner tells The Hollywood Reporter: "What excited me most about the game was it was the first of which I've come across that had a big idea and a character arc. It is, I believe, the future of gaming. The game, while big and fun, is at its core a love ballad to the underachiever, which is what our hero, Cole McGrath, is." inFAMOUS, from Sucker Punch Productions, has been one of the PlayStation 3 highlights of the year, if not the short history of the console. One way or another 2010 is going to be a landmark 12 months for videogame / movie tie-ins. Makes you want to put your feet up and whistle a merry tune.
