Hopefully it’ll be smooth-sailing for LittleBigPlanet by the time the game finally launches in the UK - a fortnight late - next weekend. Meantime developers Media Molecule have had to turn the US LBP servers off late yesterday due to “gremlins and ghosts” in the machine. Hmmm… By MM’s own account the servers were taken down while they tried to fix the glitching issues some players have experienced.” We understand that the “glitching” comprises a number of annoyances such as trophy problems, the uploading of incomplete/test levels and too much demand for the unlockable Kratos costume (a bonus for those who pre-ordered the game). Of course the sheer weight of numbers can’t have helped much either. Anyway, the good news is that the problems have been fixed and the servers have been switched back on again - “Let the sharing commence”, as the Media Molecule site confidently pronounces. Here’s hoping that whatever support they’ve put in place for the humongous European launch is robust enough for the job, eh.
