Has a sneaky Woolworths employee blown the lid off a forthcoming raft of price cuts for the Xbox 360 in the UK? It certainly looks like it. Now we’re not normally the sorts to publish unsubstantiated rumours - at least not very often - however this appears to be kosher and, with Microsoft on the price point offensive in the US and Japan, it kind of makes sense too. Here goes then… Okay, so said Woolies employee has apparently scanned the picture opposite from a forthcoming retail catalogue. If this is on the money, so to speak, it looks like we’re in for some pretty chunky discounts off all varieties of Xbox. £30 off the regular rrp across the board, in fact - the Arcade down from £160 to £129.99, the regular core unit from £200 to £169.99 and the Elite reduced from £260 to an eminently affordable £229.99. Very nice. Of course all this may yet turn out to be the work of a hopeful fan boy with a copy of Quark Xpress, too much time on his hands and a particularly cruel streak. Guess we’ll find out soon enough. Meantime we just thought you’d want the conversational ammunition to make your weekend parties go with a real swing!
