The game isn’t out until the middle of the month, but consumer demand for Assassin’s Creed 2 is already well ahead of the curve. As Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has it, pre-orders for AC2 are currently 80% above the total achieved by its predecessor. That’s as good an indication of a sure-fire hit as any, although Ubisoft is only banking on a 15-25% improvement overall. We reckon they’ll breeze it too, with desirable collectors’ editions, tempting console bundles, great looks and killer gameplay. Literally and liberally, as pre-release footage demonstrates. Elsewhere there’s already talk of more AC2 goodies for 2010. Speaking at a recent investor call Ubi exec Alain Martinez hinted: "There might be something around Assassin's Creed, and you mentioned that there will be a movie of Prince of Persia." Whether that means downloadable expansion packs or a fully-fledged sequel remains to be seen, but we can’t wait to find out. Meanwhile Assassin’s Creed 2 is slated for November 20th (PC, PS3 and 360) and you can enjoy a trailer of the forthcoming Prince of Persia flick over at our Movie channel - http://uk.movies.yahoo.com/, search it up and check it out.
