The theme of Okami is very much about appreciating nature, represented in a wonderful ancient-Japanese artwork style.

You’ll notice in the video how trees and flowers all waver in the breeze, but moving as though they were paper cut-outs. This contributes to the compelling story-book feel of the game which becomes all the more startling when you begin painting onto the scenes and watching them transform from barren wasteland to lush wilderness.
