Charts: Cry Wolf...

Nintendo notches-up another number one, as Wii Sports Resort bowls Ashes Cricket out whilst keeping those horrid occult-loving Nazi chaps off the top spot. That’s 15 weeks in the hotseat for Nintendo games so far this year. Is there no stopping them? Er, perhaps not...

Just check out the high placing of ‘old’ titles like Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii for further proof of that. Many a promising newcomer has charted and subsequently disappeared in the time they’ve been cluttering the top ten. We’re having trouble working out whether that shows a sign of abiding good taste on the part of UK gamers, or a distinct lack of imagination!

Anyway, the facts are the facts – Wii Sports Resort sales can shrink by 12% since last week and still be enough to keep a decent new shooter like Wolfenstein at Bay. Respect is most certainly due, but let’s see if Batman has the wings to set the charts a-flutter seven days from now.

1. Wii Sports Resort (2)
2. Wolfenstein (NE)
3. Ashes Cricket 2009 (1)
4. Wii Fit (3)
5. Call of Duty: World at War (8)
6. Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood (4)
7. Mario Kart Wii (6)
8. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (5)
9. Fight Night Round 4 (12)
10. Prototype (11)
