A new live-action trailer for Halo 3: ODST is going to rock your world OFF ITS AXIS!

The scene opens on a soldier’s funeral where a nervous looking chap is startled by the 21 gun salute. Maybe that’s because he knows what’s coming next, as he has his head shaved and is given a particularly hardcore military drilling before being unceremoniously dropped into the white heat of battle – and a face-off against a terrifying Covenant grunt.

It’s awesome, super-cinematic stuff, and it’s a world away from those cheapo ‘diorama’ ads for Halo 3. Thus it’s all the more surprising to learn that the same director, Rupert Sanders, is behind the pair of ‘em.

IGN.com is running the 90 second commercial right now, but a more fulsome roll-out will presumably follow shortly. All things considered we’d recommend that you keep both eyes fixed on Xbox.com and/or Xbox LIVE for more details. But, whatever you do, make sure you don’t miss out.
