Well, that didn’t last long. Lego Indy’s tenure at the top of the all format/full price charts, we mean. One week of glory and the world’s favourite aging professorial action hero, here rendered in plastic brick form, is deposed in favour of another wrinkly contender, also long past his sell-by date. It’s Solid Snake, of course, pension-porting star of the thoroughly ace (and PS3 exclusive!) Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. To be fair, age can’t have wearied him too much either, seeing as he’s managed to hold off some pretty tasty competitors and a pair of hotshot new entries to boot – Sid Meier’s Civilisation Revolution at seven, showing that strategy games can make the leap to console and, crucially, can still be fun, and – gasp – Wii Fit which crashes back into the top 40 at this week’s eight. If extra stock has snuck onto the market we certainly haven’t noticed. But we’re guessing that Chart Track wouldn’t be so cruel as to lie to us. Would they...? But whatever, three cheers, a mug of Ovaltine and a warm blanket across the knee for Snake and Indy. Meanwhile here’s how the rest of the top ten is looking for the week ending June 14th.
