Sony and Naughty Dog have just unveiled a special edition of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves that money, quite literally, cannot buy.

Well that certainly raises the stakes on collector’s boxes that are merely expensive or in deliberately short supply. Although there’s no denying the allure of the Uncharted 2 ‘Fortune Hunter Edition’, replete with its lush artbook, casing autographed by Naughty Dog staff, downloadable goodies and, er, ceremonial knife...

Yep, the Fortune Hunter box comes with an exact replica of the ‘Phurba Dagger’ and a nifty stand ‘pon which to display it to friends, relatives, passing Policemen and those with a vested interest in knife crime.

So, if you can’t buy the Fortune Hunter’s Edition in shops, how are you going to get hold of one? Well, according to the official Sony it’ll be given away via the official Blog, PlayStation Home, a brand new multiplayer beta test and several other places still TBC. A quick word about the new beta test – anyone pre-ordering Uncharted 2 from Game outlets can sign up from next Tuesday (15th) while everyone else has to wait until the 29th to join the fun. Rumour has it that challenge will be different to the ‘closed’ beta held earlier this year too.
