Resistance 2 demo announced, LBP screenshot bonanza [PS3]

Wednesday September 3, 01:23 PM Resistance 2 demo announced, LBP screenshot bonanza

Resistance 2 will get a multiplayer PS3 demo in October, so says Sony Europe. Lovely – bring it on.

Ah, but this is Sony Europe we’re talking about here, so you can abandon all hope of anything as substantial as, say, a concrete flipping release date for the demo – after all they haven’t even announced one for the full game yet. Grrr!

But you’ve got to love ‘em, right? And the demo sounds like it’ll be quite a biggie too. Here’s what Sony reckons on its community forums:

“The event will allow PS3 owners the opportunity to be the first to explore new levels, modes and weapons – as well as provide Insomniac Games, the developer of Resistance 2, and SCEE with feedback on the game.”

Note “Levels, modes and weapons” all in the plural? We do hope the marketing ‘droid responsible for making this announcement wasn’t getting a bit carried away with the S button. Anyway, more news on this exciting development soon, with any luck.

In a not completely unrelated note Sony US has just announced a limited public beta test for LittleBigPlanet later this month. Inevitably there are no specific details about what, when and how limited this test will be. Instead the US forum chap explains the various flavours of beta testing, chunders corporately about how they’re looking to test the “sharing, uploading, downloading and multiplayer” aspects of the game and promises to come back at an unspecified later date with concrete details about how to join in.

Sheesh, vagueness is like some kind of disease in the Sony Corporation, isn’t it? And they expect to keep us all smiling minds with this massive bounty of gorgeous new LittleBigScreens while they make their minds up? Damn, they know us too well...
