No prizes whatsoever for guessing the game that has just swooped to the top of the all formats/full price charts. Okay, it’s Batman: Arkham Asylum... Eidos’ moody action/brawler has achieved a near even sales-split across 360 and PS3 formats – 55% going to the big ‘Box, if you’re interested. The game is also Eidos’ biggest hit since “Who Wants To be A Millionaire” back in 2000, and that means it’s more successful than both Tomb Raider: Legend and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. Well, blimey. Of course, the Bat-chap’s big score means that there’s been a fair bit of shuffling to make way. Wii Sports Resort is relegated to second place, Wolfenstein slips to four, Wii Fit is down at five, and so it goes. The only new face in the top ten is an oldie – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare at nine. After that we’re struggling to see a single proper new entry in the entire top 40. So that’s it for chart excitement. Then again, the irresistible Arkham Asylum more than makes up for the lack of new games – be sure to check it out if you haven’t already done so (the Joker is playable in the PS3 game too). Anyway, we fully expect things to look like this until Beatles Rock Band and Halo ODST make their debuts. Here we go: 1.
