The lack of licensed teams withstanding, PES 2009 has proven to be a gameplay disappointment compared to the glory days circa 2002-2006. Somehow Konami has yet to find its form on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 while EA keeps making strides with its FIFA series… officially licensed squads and all.

However Konami has been splashing out by expanding its PES Productions team, and hopefully not just to add a fresh lick of paint. Alongside more realistic facial expressions, realistic skin textures, and weaves for the kits, the fans will be demanding top division football and nothing less to remain loyal.

Expect to see PES 2010 arrive sometime during October.
